University of New Brunswick
More than 220 years old, the University of New
Brunswick (UNB) is Canada's oldest English-language
university.
Students have flexibility and variety, with more than
80 degree and certificate programs to choose from,
exciting study abroad locations, and fascinating co-op
education and internship opportunities.
UNB is also one of a few universities in the country
to offer a degree in marine biology. Its law school is in
the top five in Canada and UNB's engineering program
is ranked in the top 20 per cent in North America.
UNB's class sizes are small and students are taught by
professors and researchers who are changing the world -
researchers who are developing the technology that will
be part of NASA's next mission to Mars, inventing ocean
mapping technology to find downed aircraft and monitor
earthquakes, creating prosthetics that are powered by
brain impulses, helping to develop drugs to fight breast
cancer, and studying the effect of everyday chemicals and
drugs are having on our rivers, lakes and oceans.
UNB students come from more than 100 different
countries. Over 12,000 undergraduate and graduate
students study at one of UNB's two main campuses,
located in Fredericton and Saint John. The university
is large enough for students to participate in exciting
research and academic opportunities, but small enough
for them to feel at home.
From their smallest needs to their biggest aspirations,
UNB makes sure students have the support they need to
succeed. The university offers more than $4 million in
undergraduate scholarships every year. All of UNB's students
have faculty advisers, mentors, academic support,
financial, health and counselling services and more.
